Welcome to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Band family in Parkland, Florida. Performing ensembles include the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band I, II and III, Percussion Ensembles, Indoor Percussion, and our nationally-ranked Color Guard. In the fall, all of these groups combine to form the Eagle Regiment Marching Band – the largest organization at Stoneman Douglas High School, which attracts some of the most academically high-achieving and talented students in the school. Students in the band program at Stoneman Douglas are members of a very special organization that derives its strength from its diverse and active membership, one that continually strives for the highest levels of excellence.

The MSD Band has received numerous awards and accolades at FBA Marching, Concert Band, and Jazz Band Music Performance Assessments over the past 27 years. Most recently, the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band earned straight Superior ratings at the 2017 State Concert Band MPA. As a result, the band program earned two Otto J. Kraushaar Awards for a second consecutive year.  This is Florida’s highest honor, given to a high school band program for a perfect record of Superior ratings from all judges at all Florida marching and concert band assessments throughout an entire school year. Jazz Band I and II also earned Superior ratings at the 2017 State Jazz MPA. The Eagle Regiment has won multiple FMBC Regional Championships and is consistently a State Championship Finalist. Most recently, the Eagle Regiment was a 2016 BOA Super Regional Finalist Band and was named the 2017 FMBC Class 5A State Champion.

In addition to ensemble success, members of the Stoneman Douglas Band distinguish themselves through individual efforts resulting in high representation in All-County, All-State, Solo and Ensemble MPAs, and other Honor Band activities. Participation in the Stoneman Douglas band program is much more than performance preparation; it reinforces the importance of self-discipline as the fundamental of healthy self-esteem, group pride, personal satisfaction, and aesthetic joy.
