John Rusnak Memorial Scholarship

The JOHN RUSNAK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP was established in 2018 in memory of Mr. Rusnak and his love and life’s dedication to the Stoneman Douglas Eagle Regiment Program. John Rusnak was the founding band director at Stoneman Douglas High School and taught music, leadership and life lessons to students for 25 years before his untimely passing on August 6, 2014. The Marching Eagle Parent Association (MEPA) along with the Rusnak family established the John Rusnak Memorial Fund to receive donations for the band program. The goal of the fund is to honor the man who established the Eagle Regiment program at Stoneman Douglas High School. The fund provides ongoing financial assistance to support the growth and excellence of the Stoneman Douglas Eagle Regiment Program, including its music, instruments, equipment, uniforms and events.
