Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagle Regiment Marching Band to Represent South
Florida at Prestigious International Performance in Rome, Italy
[Parkland, Florida, November 6, 2025] — The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagle
Regiment Marching Band is proud to announce its selection to perform at the Rome
New Year’s Day Parade to be held in Rome, Italy on January 1, 2027. This marks a
historic achievement for the ensemble and a unique opportunity to represent South
Florida on the global stage.
Under the direction of Jeancarlo Napoles, the band will join top ensembles from around
the world in a showcase of musical excellence, cultural exchange, and artistic
collaboration. The Eagle Regiment will perform a dynamic repertoire that highlights both
traditional favorites and contemporary arrangements, reflecting the group’s signature
energy and precision.
“This trip is the culmination of so much effort, passion, and teamwork. Our students are
remarkable — not just as musicians, but as people. Bringing their music to Rome is an
incredible honor, and I know they’ll make Stoneman Douglas and our South Florida
community proud,” said Director of Bands Jeancarlo Napoles.

filling the streets with pageantry and music, to celebrate and receive the Pope’s New
Year’s Day blessing. A focal point of Rome’s holiday season and the World Day of
Peace, the Rome New Year’s Parade celebrates life, cultural diversity and international

The Marching Eagles Parent Association with hold a parent meeting on November 12, 2025 at 6:30pm in the MSD Media Center to review details of this trip, explain how to regirster, and answer any questions. All current Eagle Regiment families, MSD Band familes, and incoming 8th grade students from Westglade Middle and Coral Springs Middle are encouraged to attend this meeting.
