Fall Staff 2025

Mr. Broadbent is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University. Prior to coming to Stoneman Douglas in 2019, Mr. Broadbent taught music at Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton, Connecticut and was the Director of Color Guards at Flanagan High School. has been a part of 3 DCI World Championship titles.  In addition to Mr. Broadbent’s numerous Drum Corps teaching experiences he has worked with many High Schools as well as Winter Guards including the 2001 Independent World Silver Medalist St. Ann’s Color Guard from Massachusetts and the Southern Knights from Brighton, England. Mr. Broadbent has been the Director of Color Guards at Flanagan High School since 2001. Since then, Flanagan has received the Scholastic Open Bronze medal in 2003, State Color Guard Champions in 2004 & 2006 as well as WGI Scholastic World Class Finalist since 2004. They are the South Florida Winter Guard Association Champions for the last 17 consecutive years, longer then any other school in South Florida history. In 2008 & 2012, Flanagan was named the WGI Scholastic World Champions, 2013 & 2015 Scholastic World Silver Medalist and in 2009 and 2011 the WGI Scholastic World Bronze Medalist. Flanagan was also the 2012 recipient of the WGI Scholastic World “Fans Favorite” Award.  Mr. Broadbent has served on the South Florida Winter Guard Association Board and WGI Board of Directors for over a decade.  In June of 2019 Mr. Broadbent became the Director of Color Guards for Stoneman Douglas HS and a year later accepted a full time teaching position at the school as the Digital Media educator.   In 2013 Mr. Broadbent was inducted into the South Florida Winter Guard Association Hall of Fame and served as the SFWGA Judging Administrator from 2017-2021. Mr. Broadbent currently resides in Coral Springs, Fl where he is the primary designer for DE VISUAL DESIGNS.  In his spare time he enjoys time with his family, daughter and two puppies.

Evan Zubkovs was born and raised in Huntington, NY. He started his marching career at Walt Whitman High School, where he was a member of the drumline all four years. While doing High School band, he was also involved with a local independent Winter Guard called Saturday Matinee. Evan’s passion for color guard during High School prompted him to expand his marching resume, and decided to march in Alter Ego Winter Guard in 2005 and 2006. From there, he went on to march in the renowned Blessed Sacrament Winter Guard from 2007 to 2010, and was one of the captains in 2010. He was also honored to be chosen as a member of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008 & 2009, gaining invaluable experience that brought him into the future.  Evan transitioned to the educational side of the marching arts when he moved to South Florida in 2010. From then to present day, his major work has been as a choreographer and technician for the world-renowned Flanagan High School Color Guards. Other teaching experiences include the Blessed Sacrament Winter Guard, the West Broward High School Color Guards, the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps., and most recently, the Stoneman Douglas High School Color Guards.

James "Jed " Davis A native of Charlotte, NC received his BA in Music Education from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. where his principle teacher was Dr. J David Morris and Dr. Robert Welch. He then served as band director at Hartsel Middle School in Concord, NC. from 1986-88. An alumnus of The Kilts Drum and Bugle Corps from Racine, Wisconsin and The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps from Philadelphia, Pa. Jed has been on the instructional staff and\or has served as an arranger for multiple world class drum and bugle corps including, Suncoast Sound, Tampa, Fl. Florida Wave, Pembroke Pines, Fl. Colts, Dubuque, Iowa Magic of Orlando Spirit,Jacksonville, Al Troopers, Casper Wy. Teal Sound, Jacksonville,Fl. In 1997 he was the music arranger/instructor for The Alliance of Miami Colorguard, who that year presented a groundbreaking show featuring the performers playing percussion instruments in addition to and sometimes in conjunction with their normal equipment and dance responsibilities. The guard went on to a fourth place finish in Independent World Class at the WGI World Championships held in Phoenix, Az. From 1985-2005 Mr Davis served as percussion caption head and arranger at Central Cabarrus HS in Concord, NC. During his tenure the band was a three time BOA Grand National finalist, BOA Mid South Regional champion, and was the winner of the 1988 BOA Grand National Championships “Frank Arsenault Memorial High Percussion Award” The band was also an eleven time finalist at the BOA Atlanta Regional. Mr Davis was the percussion director at Cooper City High School in Cooper City Fl. from 1991-2017 and has held that position at NUMEROUS schools in Broward and Palm Beach counties as well as at schools in North and South Carolina. During his time at Cooper City his indoor percussion ensembles were the WGI South Florida Regional Open Class Champions four times and became the first group of this type from South Florida to achieve finalist status at the WGI World Championships held in Dayton, Ohio. In 2009 the Cooper City Percussion Ensemble performed as a featured ensemble at the Music For All National Concert Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. Currently, he is the percussion caption head and arranger at West Boca Raton HIgh School where his Concert Open Class ensemble was undefeated SFWGA circuit champions and South Florida WGI Regional Open Class Champions from 2013-2016. They were the 2017 FFCC Concert Open Class silver medalists and FFCC Concert Open Class bronze medalists in 2018. He has served as the drumline instructor for the University of Miami "Band of the Hour" and has been a clinician for the University of New Mexico "Marching Lobos Band” in Albuquerque,NM. Mr Davis has performed with numerous South Florida ensembles including The Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, The Greater Miami Opera, and the Boca Pops, He has also served as the Assistant Principal Percussionist in the Asheville Symphony Orchestra in Asheville, N.C. He was a founding member of The New Percussion Group of Miami a percussion quartet specializing in contemporary percussion literature, performing in venues such as The Colony Theatre, Miami, Fl The Hollywood Arts and Culture Center, Hollywood, Fl. and Bailey Hall on the campus of Broward College where they were the featured ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society Florida State Convention,having been selected to present the world premiere of composition contest winner, Brian Benscoter’s work “Salty Fish Flesh “ In 2001 he attended and completed the inaugural East Coast Facilitators Playshop, a five day intensive workshop held outside of Baltimore, Maryland by drum circle facilitation pioneer and legend Arthur Hull. He later attended a five day seminar on corporate event facilitation held in Santa Cruz, Ca. taught by Hull and corporate trainer Jim Boneau. Through his facilitation company, HeartBeat RhythmCircles, he has facilitated for a wide range of clients, in diverse setting, from faculty teambuilding events at high schools, middle schools and elementary schools, to parties, Bar Mitzvas, weddings, and graduation celebrations, and has recently been featured at the DONA International Summit held at the W Hotel in Ft Lauderdale, Fl. and has been a keynote presenter multiple times for the Memorial Healthcare Systems Nurses Clinical Ladder Symposium with approximately two hundred and fifty participants. HeartBeat RhythmCircles has, and does provide services, for free, to Relay for Life, Kids in Distress, and other selected charities as part of their community outreach. From February 2021- April 2021 Jed hosted the first Music Educators Percussion Forum A virtual twelve week course designed to be a comprehensive guide for instrumental music teachers who would like to strengthen their knowledge of the instruments of the percussion family and their associated pedagogues. The first annual event hosted participants from throughout the US and from as far away as Shanghai, China.

Mr. Winans relocated to Pembroke Pines in 2005 after receiving two bachelor’s degrees in communications and dance from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport. Since 2005 he has been an integral part of the Flanagan High School Faculty in various administrative roles and as a designer & instructor for the marching band and color guard program. Mr. Winans recently accepted the position of Student Assessment Specialist at Stoneman Douglas High School. He has performed with elite programs such as the Rochester Patriots Independent World Winter Guard, Empire Statesmen Drum Corps, and the Cadets Drum Corps.  While attending Brockport, he studied dance under the Limon Dance Company, as well as the world-renowned Bill Evans.   Mr. Winans color guard design and instruction has received top honors at the local, state, and national level. While at Flanagan High School they were a 15-time Scholastic World Class finalist at WGI World championships, Gold Medalist in 2008 & 2012, Silver Medalist in 2013 & 2015, Bronze Medalist 2009 & 2011, as well as the undefeated South Florida Winter guard Association for 14 years at the program. During this time, he also was a designer for Onyx Independent World Guard for 3 years in which the program won Gold Medal in 2013, Silver Medal in 2014, and Bronze Medal in 2015. Mr. Winans contribution to the outdoor marching arts activity has also been extensive including: color guard staff for The Cadets World Class Drum Corps from 2005-2007; Color guard caption head and designer for the Boston Crusaders World Class Drum Corps from 2008-2012; Color guard designer for the Empire Statesmen Drum Corps 2002-2004, 2010 & 2011. Throughout his career he has continued to provide unique and quality designs for programs across the United States and Canada.  

Matt Winans

Jacqueline began performing at the age of three as a member of the Dancer’s Gallery team in Pembroke Pines.  Studying the performing arts for many years, she focused on ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, Afro-Caribbean, bellydance, musical theater, contemporary, and acrobatics.  In 2010, Jacqueline auditioned for and joined the Madison Brody Dance Company where she would travel around the country performing in many venues.  With highlight performances at Disney World, New York City’s Macy’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and at Alvin Ailey Studios, she would soon use her dance skills to join the Flanagan High School Junior Varsity Winter Guard in the eighth grade.  As her love for the Sport of the Arts flourished, Jacqueline joined the Flanagan Falcon Sound Marching Band in 2015 and would continue with the team throughout her high school career.  As a sophomore, she joined the Flanagan World Guard and competed three times in the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.  During this span, the Flanagan World Guard won two SFWGA Championships, three WGI Regional competitions, and a fourth place at the WGI World Championships. In 2018, she was named captain of the Flanagan color guard. In the fall of 2019, Jacqueline began attending Florida Atlantic University and was accepted as a member of the FAU Marching Owls.  As a founding member of the FAU Winter Guard, she continued to perform in SFWGA competitions.  Now in her third year with the Marching Owls, Jacqueline was named a team captain for the color guard.  In the fall of 2020, she joined independent world guard, Relentless, and performed on the main flagline.  Majoring in Theater Design and Technology, Jacqueline hopes to build a career in the performing and theatrical arts and is looking forward to working with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagle Regiment.

Mr. Delgado a Miami native has an extensive background in performance, having performed in the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. In addition to his musical experience as a Flautist, He toured the United States and Canada playing Contra with the Canadian National Champions, The Kiwanis Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. and spent the following two seasons touring the United States and Europe with DCI World Finalists, the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, from Toledo, Ohio. As an Educator, Mr. Delgado has been involved with a number of Marching Arts programs in South Florida as a Visual Caption Head, Visual Consultant and Guest Clinician. He has had the pleasure of working with G. Holmes Braddock HS (FMBC Class 1A Finalists), West Boca Raton HS (FMBC Class 4A 1st Runner-up), Miami Senior HS (FMBC Class 1A 2nd Runner-up), Miami Coral Park HS (FMBC Class 2A State Champion, 2011), Hialeah Senior HS, Cooper City HS, Hialeah Gardens HS (FMBC Class 2A 2nd Runner-up) and Charles W. Flanagan HS (FMBC Class 3A Finalist) Mr. Delgado has also been involved with the WGI Winds activity since its inception, and was a founding member of the Visual Team at FIU World Winds in 2015. During his tenure at FIU, the ensemble became the inaugural WGI Winds Independent Open champion in 2015, WIA Champions in 2016, WIW Bronze Medalist in 2017, and WIW Fan Favorite in 2018. In addition to his contributions to the FIU World Winds, Mr. Delgado has also worked on the Visual Team for Flanagan Winds in 2018 (WGI WSW Gold Medalist) 2019 (WGI WSW Silver Medalist), Doral Academy Winds, Cooper City Winds, Stryke Wynds and Stoneman Winds. Mr. Delgado is currently the Visual Caption Head at Hialeah Gardens Hs and on the Visual Team with STRYKE Wynds. Mr Delgado is honored on taking the new role as the visual caption head at the Eagle Regiment.
