Welcome to the exciting world of Color Guard! Today marks a special day for new students and parents as we kick off the first JV Color Guard rehearsal at Stoneman Douglas from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Whether you’re a student eager to learn or a parent supporting your child’s new adventure, this blog post is here to guide you through everything you need to know for a smooth and enjoyable experience.
What to Expect at Rehearsal
The first rehearsal is all about getting to know each other and having fun! No experience is needed, so don’t worry if you’re new to Color Guard. The team is welcoming and excited to teach you the basics of flag spinning, dance, and teamwork. This is a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills in a supportive environment.
Drop-off and Pick-up Information
To ensure a smooth drop-off and pick-up process, please refer to the map below. Parents are encouraged to drop off their students at the designated area near the main entrance of Stoneman Douglas. This will help keep traffic flowing and ensure that everyone arrives safely.

After rehearsal, please return to the same location for pick-up. It’s important to be punctual, as the rehearsal will end at 7:30 PM. This will help ensure that all students are safely accounted for and can leave with their parents or guardians.

What to Bring
Students should come prepared for rehearsal! Here’s a quick checklist of what to bring:
Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key, especially during physical activities.
Comfortable Clothing: Wear something you can move in easily. Athletic wear is a great choice!
Sneakers: Proper footwear is essential for safety and comfort.
A Positive Attitude: Come ready to learn and have fun!
After School Activity Form and Registration
Before students can participate, parents need to complete 2 items.
#1 The After School Activity Form. This form is essential for ensuring that all students are registered and accounted for.
#2 Additionally, if you haven’t registered yet, please do so using the following link: Registration Link. Completing these forms will help us create a safe and organized environment for everyone involved.
Meet the Team

At the first rehearsal, students will meet the Color Guard coaches and experienced members of the team. They are all excited to share their passion for Color Guard and will guide newcomers through the initial steps. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek help; everyone is here to support you!
Encouragement for New Students
If you’re feeling nervous about joining, remember that everyone starts somewhere! The Color Guard community is all about encouragement and growth. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can learn new skills and build confidence. Plus, you’ll be part of a team that celebrates each other’s successes, big and small.
