Good morning! Congratulations to all of our Students on a phenomenal Winter Concert! Please see below for this weeks announcements and schedules:
ANNOUNCEMENTS & UPCOMING EVENTS:
LONDON MEMBERS:
We have two rehearsals that remain and just 9 more days til we Depart for London.
Some Reminders:
-Continue to review and refine your drill & music (Sweet Caroline and Dancing Queen)
-We have rehearsal on Tuesday & Thursday this week.
-If you shipped your Instrument, you need to bowwow one for the rehearsals.
-Start to Organize yourself and Begin to Pack.
CONCERT MUSIC CAMP:
The annual Stoneman Douglas Concert Music Camp will be January 19, 2023 – January 20, 2023. The camp will involve all MSD Band and Percussion Students from the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Orchestra. We will also host an Honor Band made up of students from Westglades and Coral Springs Middle Schools, which I will have the honor to conduct. All of the Bands will conclude the Concert Music Camp with a performance in the John Rusnak Auditorium on Friday, January 20th.
This year’s Concert Music Camp fee is $80.00 for MSD Students and no charge for the middle schoolers. The cost goes to cover the Guest Conductors for the MSD Bands, the Master Class Clinicians for the High School and Middle School Students, and dinner for all students Friday Night. The $80.00 Fee is Due By Fri., January 13th.
The Schedule for the 2023 Concert Music Camp is as follows:
Thursday, January 19, 2023:
(Come in Comfortable Clothes and BRING YOUR OWN DINNER)
3:15 PM – 8:30 PM: Rehearsal (6:00 PM Dinner Break)
Friday, January 20, 2023: (IN-SCHOOL FIELD TRIP AT STONEMAN DOUGLAS HS)
-Come in Comfortable Clothes and BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH
-Bring your Uniform and Accessories with you in a Garment Bag or on a Hanger
7:40 AM – 12:00 PM: Rehearsal
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break (Bring your own)
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Rehearsal
3:15 PM – 5:15 PM: MASTER CLASSES with Professional Musicians from UM and FIU
5:15 PM – 6:00 PM: DINNER (Provided by the Marching Eagle Parent Association)
7:00 PM: CONCERT
-The Concert will take place in the Stoneman Douglas Auditorium and tickets are $10.00 each.
